bryn27 89
Reminds me of the two bulls standing on the hill and staring down at a field full of heifers. young bull says jesus! look at them down there, "lets run down and do one of them". Old bull says no, "we'll walk down there and do them all!" 1 Quote Link to post
Matt 160
I use a quad to get from A to B. When I'm setting on soft ground I rarely use the spade. I'm more likely to probe and then use my hands to open up. I'll put a film up before too long I'm just about to get very busy... Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
one mole it was roughly an hour so im not the fast trapper you thnk it was a mess of a lawn the mole had been active for ages 20 traps for one mole was maybe a bit overkill,5 traps placed at a slower pace and in the right place would have been my method. I certainly wouldn't be happy with a catch ratio like what you got on that job. Edited February 11, 2015 by Peter Fullerton Quote Link to post

I certainly wouldn't be happy with a catch ratio like you what got on that job. Thing is, I would probably set a lot of traps in that situation on my first visit. I've done a garden of one acre riddled with 60+ tumps and taken just one mole out, and there's been no more activity for almost a year. Go back a year later, put four traps in and kill the new resident. Job done. But I've done a similar sized garden with half the number of tumps and taken 19 out. You never know on the first visit. bryn27 89
True beauty of the job is something always comes along and either baffles you or amazes you, as long as you got him tilman that's the main thing. Quote Link to post
bryn27 89
Leek men are getting busy here preparing their trenches. Great fun when they get an invader in the raised bed, all hell breaks loose. Quote Link to post

I have done...... the trouble is that likkle Florence loves to munch them, so whenever I flick one out she's straight on it Not that I'd deliberately set the dog on a mole you understand that would be against the Hunting Act Quote Link to post

There's more molehills than grass now! ha ha LOL... did that once..... a customer owed me a four figure sum for rat work, and I'd about given up on it.... anyway, I was driving down a road nearby one day and a magpie was in the middle of the road arsing about... I stopped, the magpie flew off, and I got out to see what it was up to..... A very live and healthy mole was quickly gathered up and placed in my lunchbox...... off down the road and out it went into said farmers garden.... The very next day he was on the phone asking me to sort it out........ There is a video somewhere on you tube of me hand catching rats. I won't tell you about that one for now..... Quote Link to post
