clove hitch the running lines into the grommets, remember to add a mesh into the hitch  you will have a problem if the lines are too thick, you'll not get the hitch into the grommet. if your using castration bands you'll need to put the band on the pole, clove hitch the line then twist the band back over the hitch.

To start a clove hitch around the top of the peg you have to make sure that the line coming towards the peg is on the top of the first loop. I have found that if you are doing the clove hitch with your left hand have the bite on the left side of the peg, and on the right side of the peg if you are doing it r / handed.

Once you have made the first loop then is the time to put the tension on the line, to do this grab the line and pull the line tight, if you pull the line with your hand parallel to the line and your thumb nearest your body you are half way to making the second loop of the clove hitch. All you have to do then is simply turn your hand over away from your body and that creates the second loop of the clove hitch. Place that over the top of the peg holding some tension between you hand and the hank on the end pin, then simply pull the knot tight.

The easiest way I have found to make the half turn on the bottom of the peg is to hold the peg in the centre with the point facing you. Place the point under the foot line then rotate the peg so the top of the peg is facing you, your foot line is always the line furthest away from your body, that naturally creates the loop on the foot line.
