From the outside Zak's is a great looking building it was built in 1901 i think and is set in a lovely location. It has a small car park but there is more free parking on the otherside of the road .
I visited with my wife on a Wednesday evening finding the carpark full there was space on the other side, our short walk to the restaurant would have been safer if the carpark lighting was less dazzling and more directed at the ground.
Anyway on the inside the place is covered in bits and bobs, number plates and all things American. The room reminded me of a big shed with tatty tables and chairs squeezed in even under the stairs (do they want people to bang their heads)

We were shown to a table by a very friendly and attentive young lady. The drinks menu has lots of things I don't enjoy like shakes, cocktails and small bottles of lager for nearly four quid each but they did have a draft ale on which was good.
After ordering our main meals they arrived quickly, we had chilli dog and wedges and road to hell burger with "man up" sauce and fries. The burger was good with a large portion of fries strangely none of which were larger than two inches long. The sauce was actually hot for a raw chilli eater like me,so far so good but the chilli dog was not so hot(it was hot thermally but not in quality,or of chilli heat)it is advertised as being 100% beef, seasoned, smoked and chargrilled. It was pink inside like a tinned pork hot dog but with a firmer texture and its smoked flavour was good but it didn't taste chargrilled or like beef to me. The chilli con carne that was served over it had a not bad taste just too mild. The brioche roll it came in was huge and tasted cheap.
All the dogs are nine quid and burgers are around a tenner with a choice of different deep fried potatoes, and jackets my wedges were pretty soggy, greasy, far too dark(almost black) and huge. I prefer quality to quantity.
Luckily we had a voucher for buy one get one free and that was the only reason we went as most people I know say zaks is a rip off and they were right. I mean £4.45 for s side of sweet potatoes and £6 for pancakes I wouldn't mind paying if it was top quality grub but going on what we had it was average at best.
Finally don't bother replying Zak's manager I do not want to converse with you as I will never return unless I hear your establishments have been taken over and under new management. It takes more than providing good service the food should be of the same standard.

Because I have been on some profiles and there have been 50 to 60 year olds haha they don't really have the right to comment as they will be hanging in the towel in 10 to 20 years.

Feck sake I'm not trying to insult you all

if that's your humour it's bit shit. Respect your elders

How can I possibly respect people who judge before they know, I believe someone saying that rubbish about my husband is the sick one to even see it as wrong

you wrote that long before any of that was mentioned.

At the end of the day it's them we learn from (maybe not Paulus). :D nah he's boss.

Anyway, if you want people to listen and respect you your the one who has to earn it.

Yes although irrelevant I was married when I had just turned 16. And I sure there are some Irish traverlers on here who will be getting slightly miffed of that you have now got something against young marriage and being young starting a family. Is this a load of old todgers envying my youthfulness?

think you will find its codger, todgers something different where i come from lol
