Feeding Two Running Lurchers

Recommended Posts

Hello, I feed my lurchers dry food and raw also left overs for example from a roast. What do you think about skinners field and trial working dog biscuits? We have just switched onto them as the dry food we were giving them didn't ever seem to fill them up.

Kind regards

Skinners field and trial is utter shite, add a little water to it and watch it double in size... It'll do nothing but give ur dogs bloat...

Give the best possible dry food with meat being the 1st and main ingredient :)

go for a decent greyhound food skinners isn't the best try gain or redmills

I've been feeding gain but not the stuff in yellow bag I been feeding gain record breaker which comes in blue bag the first two ingredients are fresh chicken 22% dry chicken 22%

And at £20 a bag Imo it can't be beat. The dogs love it and are in fine condition.

In the past I have fed origen and taste of the wild and find gain record breaker to be more suitable.

Yes, maybe it does but that stuff easily doubles in size if not more, imho it's shite, just crumbles in the hand and swells like a balloon when water added - it's the worst dry food I've tried...

Have you tried asking your butcher for off-cuts (high fat, which really helps keep them in good condition if working all day everyday), pigs heads, lamb bones etc you might be surprised how much they chuck out.. Do you eat/sell everything the lurchers catch, or can you spare a bit for them, maybe you just use them for vermin control (rats etc)?
