Ferreting Permission

Recommended Posts

Me and Rew invited a good pal of ours to our permission as the farmers bin asking us to have a session for him as the the coney numbers are slightly increasing... We took rews 2 jills and my hob and brought along my lass and duke and rews gem... we had a good crack and bolted out a fair few rabbits nots missing many at all, Gem had already caught 2 rabbits prior to us arriving i will let Rew explain ;), when we started we didnt use nets just let them bolt to dogs as the landowner allows us to turn his electric fencing off for when we are there. Lass made some cracking catches showing how well she can ferret sets being in the right place at the right time, she caught 4 by end of day and a youngen, Gem was marking well and getting stuck into the hedges i cant fault the young bitch she should be a top dog for you rew  , Duke is showing good signs and doing all the right things im chuffed with how he coming on he even pinched 1 of lass's rabbits and bought it up the banking towards me, i always allow him to carry dead rabbit twhen im moving to a next warren which helps alot with his retrieving. The ferrets worked well and they made sure they evicted any rabbits at home, 1 of which the hob caught for a while below ground but the rabbit decided to exit the warren aftter he had no eyes left which left lass to enter the hedge and bring him out for me, All in all it was a great day with good company and the farmer was happy to see us up there shifting a few for him. Cheers for reading guys ATB
