2.8 guy 403
Had a trip out to Bridlington for a few hours fishing im pritty new to it all and just went for the craic im looking forward to getting out on my boat really and the fishing is just a bonus. We planned to go tuesday as it seemed to be the best forecast wrong lol it was cold and wet under foot from the snow but stayed dry although it looked grim at times. The fishing was slow but picked up high tide and we was getting knocks regular but no real bites we caught thirteen between us but most was too small and went back in. The four we did keep was only pan fry size and nothing to right home about im told they was dabbs and we tried a few baits and rigs but in the end it was mackrell and squid that seemed to please. I made a new mate a seagull with a limp I named him gimp foot and he stayed all day with us on the pier he also liked my bait lol I also saw a seal or porpios just before we packed up. So all in all it was a steady day but good fun was had I gained some experience and some local knowlage roll on next time... 1 Quote Link to post
bunny tickler 876
fair play to you for getting out ,its a poor time of the year now ,nights better really for whiting /codling with a bit of sea running for the cod , at least you got a few , try 1s or 1/0 hooks if your missing the knocks for dabs Quote Link to post

2.8 guy 403
I did enjoy the day very much I was using a 1/0 2 hook flapper rig to start with but next time we go it was planned to do a night raid lol the locals said it had gone quite for the last two weeks but a inshore blow/storm will bring in the fish so ill be weather watching now. We will go now once a week unless its fit for the dogs but will be trying a few spots up and down the coast keep you posted. 1 Quote Link to post
