Budget Pcp

Evening all been shooting with my break barrel .22 for a few years but thinking off getting a pcp went to my local shop and he had hatsan at44-10 for 340 with a scope new was thinking on either that or a bsa ultra will have to save for a few months first was also thinking off getting it in 177

Look at a hatsan Galatian which is newer than the at44 or you could bike up a used ultra se for 4-450?

Hatsan are shite cheap made you may as well buy something used you'll get a better gun pm me when your ready for it ive always got a few for sale

I would suggest the BSA Ultra by a "country mile" to you. Reg`d .

The "dogs", you know what, "for me" is the HW 100 range pcp. - Simply untouchable.

The only thing that was putting me off the ultra was the thing of double loading it by mistake what would i have to do if it did double load.

Don't forget you'll need another £150 approx for a stirrup pump or bottle.

 

As for which rifle, go and handle different ones at your local RFD and get a feel for them. The more "right" it feels when shouldering it the better you will shoot and the more you will enjoy it.

 

The ultra is a good rifle and is nice and compact, try and go for the SE multishot if you go this route. The Hatsan is heavier but still a good rifle, check the serial number as the first 4 numbers are the month and year of manufacture. The early ones had a few issues. Walther have recently introduced the Rotex R8 in .177 and they get very good reviews and are a good price. I can see them going up in price quickly once their popularity takes off.

 

Read reviews on them all and find their strengths and weaknesses. Good luck.

Alroght cheers gunna get a second hand bottle after i have the rifle because the club im using it at offers free air refils then its 3.50 to fill up your bottle of im not mistaken you should store it pressurised?

Hatsan are an alright gun for the money. However sometimes you are better off buying secondhand you get better value for money

Ive had a couple of bsa,s from the bsaog forum,ultra multi,scorpion multi,and scultra hybrid,,all regulated,shot to shot within 10fps,unregulated youl have a sweet spot,and its a pain in the arse to work with,ide recommend getting on there,always a regged good deal going,for what youd pay new unregulated ,cheers.

Good plan, I have no experience of Hatsan air rifles, but if they are anything like the shotguns, they are not worth a wa*k mate, ultra,r8, or an s200 will all be miles better, and .177 is the way to go mate

dont think that you could go wrong with the ultra se

accruate , light , short, but imo i would go 177

it will do any thing a 22 will do as long as you hit the right spot

pluss a better range
