try u tubing it mate im sure there some on there but when I was young it was a row of nails along a bit of wood with the string hanging down and you just tie two together and work along then go down the depth you want and do the two that isn't joined together and so on and so forth as clear as mud when I read it back lol

and each nail was the centre of the twine, if you were doing a 4ft net that would be a 9ft length of twine hung equally over the nail and a nail for every mesh wide you wanted the net to be. the nails were nt spread as wide as the finished net would be

Just read both them posts,,,and I ain't a clue,,,lol

Each length of twine is folded in half and a over hand knot forms a loop in the middle. 15 of these will give you 15 meshes wide. Hang them on a row of nails or hooks equally spaced at the width of the net you want, then Just take one "leg" from the pair next to it and join with a simple over hand knot. Your diamond mesh is formed by the zig zagging that comes from joining it to its neighboring strand. I dont know if Ive actually made that any clearer at all lol

I think this is the way they teach on survival courses and in the military, as its a fast way to put a net together, and you can make them any size providing you have suitable materials to make fishing nets or hammocks..
