pigeonphill 69 Posted February 2, 2015 Report Share Posted February 2, 2015 try u tubing it mate im sure there some on there but when I was young it was a row of nails along a bit of wood with the string hanging down and you just tie two together and work along then go down the depth you want and do the two that isn't joined together and so on and so forth as clear as mud when I read it back lol 1 Quote Link to post

Hang them on a row of nails or hooks equally spaced at the width of the net you want, then Just take one "leg" from the pair next to it and join with a simple over hand knot. Your diamond mesh is formed by the zig zagging that comes from joining it to its neighboring strand. I dont know if Ive actually made that any clearer at all lol I think this is the way they teach on survival courses and in the military, as its a fast way to put a net together, and you can make them any size providing you have suitable materials to make fishing nets or hammocks.. 1 Quote Link to post

fluff 410 Posted February 4, 2015 Report Share Posted February 4, 2015 best way mate and im being seurous dont listen to drivle on here, go to someone that makes nets like mick dadd or if you were up here in scotland teach you in an hour or two , i would say a day helping a ,man and learning how to do its a day worth well spending , forget about all the nails and boards do it properly , learn with needle and spacer then when you get handy you can gauge the mesh and tallyho do it free hand like fishermen do on boats harbours for a living , Quote Link to post
