Country Joe 1,411
McCartney was a bass guitarist, and pretty average one at that. How about Frampton, Page, or even the old master who all the top guys claim as an influence, Bert Weedon ?McCartney is more than just a bass player ... Not a big McCartney fan, preferred Lennon, but he is no bad Bass player check out SGT Pepper CD, some tasty Bass lines. not as good as the greatest rock Bassist Jack Bruce, saw him a few times live with Cream. I'd never thought about bassists ! Not everyone's taste, but for sheer ability, how about Mark King of Level 42 ???? Greatest Bass Solo Ever - Mark King, Northwood House, Isle of Wight 2012.:
