roybo 2,873
Start with the right ingredients gafer, if you want More size start with a bigger bitch same as the speed etc etc ,a beddy x cross ain't going to add size is it? 5 Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
Or better still just buy a pup, that's the stamp you want 2 Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
That bit of whippet should make that much difference , my bitch is smaller than i wanted tbh roy and was hoping they would be rough but they just have a good thick coatdidn't you buy her as a grown dog mate? And both are smooth so I'd have guessed they may have been smooth Quote Link to post

squab 2,875
Not wanting to offend gaf as you'll get thread deleted. You say the sire to your pups was a great dog for you, yet instead of replace him with same, you bred away fom his type. You say the bullx bitch does all you ask, yet again bred away from the type and used the beddyx. Now your saying you wanted a rough coat, then why add bullx blood? Now the bitch is not tall enough, yet you have deerhoundxs, that you say are allrounders, with a jacket and height, why not stick with them. Like i said I don't want to offend but them pups ain't even.lost puppy fat yet, been out twice and caught one bunny between them, now your thinking about next dog?? You come across as mixed up mateyou have said what everyone is thinking, you don't want shit on the thread gaffer but you certainly know how to line yourself up for it 2 Quote Link to post

roybo 2,873
Yes see what you are saying gafer all the stud dogs litter mates where rough so there's maybe a 25% chance he carries the genes for it and then breeding to a smooth bull cross who isn't big enough. and a stud dog that beddy whippet grey.He ain't going to add size to a bitch that isn't big enough is he. Maybe start with a bigger rougher dog and a bigger bull cross bitch that's quick enough. Just a though kev you can't add genes that ain't there . As I said early buy a pup of the stamp that you like and the parents doing the job you want ....just my honest opinion Good luck what ever way you go 1 Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
On paper i've always thought 5/8th's are right but a litter can throw variables and i liked my bull bloods with both substance and a gallop. I was lucky in that i found a line where the half's to half's were all i required. Quote Link to post

Quarter bull 240
Guy int pub said surely it depends in job, and then there's fact some half's turn out like pures, some turn out like 3/4breds and there abilitys differ. Same can be said if any %. :-) Quote Link to post
