I run a half x as you no and and he's has a lot to offer in the tasks I ask of him and dose the job to a high standered . Also I have a 5/8s 3/8s and he also dose everything I ask of him this is a pic

Okay for starters, as someone who gets less opportunity to get out lamping than others - I need 2 dogs. I work nights so when that night off work crops up - I AM GOING OUT. So I need 2 dogs to guarant

Halfx for vermin. You want to run fast stuff then outcross to a decent coursing type. Hardly rocket science. Tbh folk get too hung up percentages and end up breeding for looks instead of workability.

That bit of whippet should make that much difference ,

my bitch is smaller than i wanted tbh roy and was hoping they would be rough but they just have a good thick coat
didn't you buy her as a grown dog mate?

And both are smooth so I'd have guessed they may have been smooth

Not wanting to offend gaf as you'll get thread deleted. You say the sire to your pups was a great dog for you, yet instead of replace him with same, you bred away fom his type. You say the bullx bitch does all you ask, yet again bred away from the type and used the beddyx. Now your saying you wanted a rough coat, then why add bullx blood? Now the bitch is not tall enough, yet you have deerhoundxs, that you say are allrounders, with a jacket and height, why not stick with them. Like i said I don't want to offend but them pups ain't even.lost puppy fat yet, been out twice and caught one bunny between them, now your thinking about next dog?? You come across as mixed up mate

you have said what everyone is thinking, you don't want shit on the thread gaffer but you certainly know how to line yourself up for it

Yes see what you are saying gafer all the stud dogs litter mates where rough so there's maybe a 25% chance he carries the genes for it

and then breeding to a smooth bull cross who isn't big enough.

and a stud dog that beddy whippet grey.He ain't going to add size to a bitch that isn't big enough is he.

Maybe start with a bigger rougher dog and a bigger bull cross bitch that's quick enough.

Just a though kev you can't add genes that ain't there .

As I said early buy a pup of the stamp that you like and the parents doing the job you want ....just my honest opinion

Good luck what ever way you go

On paper i've always thought 5/8th's are right but a litter can throw variables and i liked my bull bloods with both substance and a gallop.

I was lucky in that i found a line where the half's to half's were all i required.

like johnny gaf dont want to cause offence but you dont have the work for all your dogs yes you feed them etc but you need to take stock of what you need and what im quessing one at the most two half decent dogs could do what you need and run

only 3 get worked pal and see there share

Fair play you must be givin the land some hammer to be givin 3 dogs justice, don't no how you manage it tho I'm runnin 2 dogs on n even tho Iv really enjoyed the season I'm already lookin forward to goin on holiday when the season finishes soon as I'm absolutely fecked lately when lads are out proper puttin the miles n leg work in through the season it can really take it outa you towards the end..
