I run a half x as you no and and he's has a lot to offer in the tasks I ask of him and dose the job to a high standered . Also I have a 5/8s 3/8s and he also dose everything I ask of him this is a pic

Okay for starters, as someone who gets less opportunity to get out lamping than others - I need 2 dogs. I work nights so when that night off work crops up - I AM GOING OUT. So I need 2 dogs to guarant

Halfx for vermin. You want to run fast stuff then outcross to a decent coursing type. Hardly rocket science. Tbh folk get too hung up percentages and end up breeding for looks instead of workability.

I run a half also gaff and bred well too. Only first season bitch. Catches lots of gear and doing exceptional for a first x in a lot of areas I never thought she would.

Catches big rabbits no bother and had 2 during day and not kick ups either but fast first xs are far and few between. Seen and owned plenty that lacked a yard but very keen animals being half bred and when there good there hard to beat.

always preferred a 5/8 3/8 myself gaf but seen some decent half crosses to be honest had a 3/4 grey 1/4 bull but dont really rate them and thats my own take has there is decent ones out there worth owning alot of bullxs i seen were good /natural retrievers live to hand not smashed has some like to think i think the bull adds some good traits when put in a lurcher

It doesn't necessarily go that a 1/4 is racier than a 3/8 or even 1/2 for that matter you need to pick a stamp you like from parents that do what you want .

My bitch is 3/8 and I've seen heavier 1/4s in fact heavier saluki crosses lol

Should be what they do not how they look

What do you want in a bull cross gafer?

choosing a stamp of type his here said , because bull types throw a large range of types ,fractions mean nought and that goes for pretty much all types see saluki bull grey types heavier set than generation bred bull greys stands to reason when breeding with family bred stuff they start to become more raciey and suitable for more than just the terrier man . and will be fllet enough to out strip all british quarry plus game , atb bunnys.

Guy int pub said surely it depends in job, and then there's fact some half's turn out like pures, some turn out like 3/4breds and there abilitys differ. Same can be said if any %.

spot on  , from seeing them work, and my own dogs, 1/4 bull can give that bit of extra guts to most lurcher xs. to deal with most quarry. But when it comes to teeth and getting bitten/ hurt , to me there nothing to touch a well bed 1x pit x grey , or 1x pit x lurcher for that kind of job , it having that mentally not to feel pain, and the more the pit in the mix, should give you that . But on alround lurcher work a 1/4 or bit more is ample
