Securing Fenn Traps

Recommended Posts

I also like to wire them up as I find it easier to take out dead vermin and reset them. Also a wire type off would be safer than a stake I should think, if a fox or a badger was working the line and tried to run off with a trap and its contents...

Of course when Squirrel trapping there's plenty to tie off to, so its probably a lot handier than carrying pegs or anchors around!

I think a Badger/ fox would more likely pull free from a trap before pulling a steel peg JD! (JMHO)

Hi, read my post again, I meant that the fox or badger would run off with the trap and it's catch. Not that a for or badger would get caught in the traps.

I think it's the guy next door as he often walks his two scotties round the field but I had fifty fens set so im given him the benefit till I can catch up with him

So he's got 2 scotties and you've lost 2? Sounds like you caught both them then....lol
