dagger1 8
What do you guys use to secure your fenn traps to ground to stop 4 legged friends taking them a couple of mine have gone missing and know one else goes in the wood what could it be ? Quote Link to post
Matt 160
I use bullet type removable anchors, which I buy from Arrow Anchors. Quote Link to post
EDDIE B 3,166
Yea Anchors and steel pegs! I wouldn't set a trap without anchoring it some way! Quote Link to post
Jarvis 277
I use steel pegs or wire them to a near by tree, fence post etc Quote Link to post
3175darren 1,101
Same as above or wired to a small tree or post Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
I also like to wire them up as I find it easier to take out dead vermin and reset them. Also a wire type off would be safer than a stake I should think, if a fox or a badger was working the line and tried to run off with a trap and its contents... Quote Link to post

Of course when Squirrel trapping there's plenty to tie off to, so its probably a lot handier than carrying pegs or anchors around! Edited January 28, 2015 by EDDIE B Quote Link to post

I think a Badger/ fox would more likely pull free from a trap before pulling a steel peg JD! Hi, read my post again, I meant that the fox or badger would run off with the trap and it's catch. Not that a for or badger would get caught in the traps. Quote Link to post
EDDIE B 3,166
Had it just posted and copped my error! I removed that JD Edited January 28, 2015 by EDDIE B 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,493
When i scrape the trap bed out i put a big metal peg there then set the trap on it , ive still lost two but its sandy soily and theres nothing to tie them off too Quote Link to post
IanB 0
I use ash pegs, stake them under the trap or to the side of the hole, there well secured.. Quote Link to post

Hellride 1
Earth anchors a bit overkill for fenns.....but Andy rogers does make good earth anchors ideal for fox snares? Edited January 28, 2015 by Hellride Quote Link to post
