i dont think there would be too many problems about putting a caravan on some land but you will need running water and electric, you will have to pay council tax as your living there, but as for planning permission shouldnt be needed as its not a fixed structure, meaning it will always be mobile, but dont quote me on that, i'd seek legal help there

Caravan Sites Act. 1968. (The Malleus Romano) All ye need to know and don't want to hear is in there. I'll make this simple for ye:

Buy a trailer and ye can put it just about anywhere ye have a mind to. But the moment ye try to live in it, ye become a " Gypsy ", under law, and ye life will become a living hell

Only two possible exceptions to that. 1/ That ye really Are a Gypsy and ye have a place on a council run site. 2/ That ye Not a Gypsy and ye have a place on a council run site.

See, ye not allowed to stop on a 'Caravan Park' full time. And the only way to legally get to live in a trailer, other than the above two, is to create a Private Caravan Park. That, by definition, will require mains water, sewage and power. I'm not certain if access for the emergency services is mandatory yet, but they'd probably throw that one in too. That is, they might, if they were so much as prepared to even look at ye - which they won't be. Because the brit governments have got hundreds of years of trying to stamp out Gypsys and bar code them like everyone else already under their belt. Thus no f*cking way are they going to let anyone slip back a step. That includes you.

None of this is, of course, to suggest ye planning to start wearing Dealer Boots and developing a fasination with scrap metal. But that's the basis for the mind set of central government and that mind set has long since filtered down to every local council in the land. Cellophane rat in hells chance, mate. Sorry, but there it is.

Yes, there Are said to be loop holes. But trying to wriggle through such would only lead ye down the path of nervous breakdown as ye make yeself, effectively, a man on the run. Because they'll find ye and throw everything they have at ye in a constant effort to get ye out of ye field, wood or what ever it is. In short, and we've now come full circle in all this; They'll treat ye like a Gypsy and make ye existence a living hell. Right up untill the time they break ye and shoe horn ye back into ye correct box, with their bar code on it.

Sorry :(

There is away you can live in a static , if there are animals on the land eg a cattery, that would need 24hr

supervision. also to get it on in the first place a tack room hay store, once on after 4 years yoused to be 12

it can stay. the more out of site it is the better , but the neighbour you havent seen for ten years will suddenly

come out of the woodwork.

if your keeping livestock on a smallholding you aloud to put a static onthe land but you are only aloud to live in it while the livestock you have are due to give birth so your there on hand for assistance but im sure youll struggle to get away living there full time unlaess youve got a freind or familly member who would let you use there address as a mailing address and say that you live there most of the time it is possible but you need to play the system and be clever about it also.

cheers for replies......basically there will be alot of stock...and yes it will need supervision

what i would prefrably like is a barn in a farmyard (you know the type half breeze block half steel or wood type) and build the stables inside there and whatever else i wanted in there....like haystorage and a upstairs where you can sit etc.. kennels .....whatever else i needed

and obviously the static

cheers valentino
