myersbg 1,385
The Blue bitch in my last topic is a 3/4 whippet 1/4 bedlington , all the others are bred out of her back to a whippet so that makes 1/8 bedi Quote Link to post
Bustamunky 7
What i meant is before the ban started was the cross capable of more? Or just all round bunny bashers Quote Link to post
Hands of Stone 154
These days say as any lurcher..... rabbits and rats.... Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,089
What i meant is before the ban started was the cross capable of more? Or just all round bunny bashersthink that would really depend on the dog lol Quote Link to post
Bustamunky 7
Not really dependent on the dog as im asking for past references? Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
Ive seen a member off heres Beddy whippet catch all sorts, we go into Europe hunting too and Ive seen it catch wild boar, badger, fox etc, all legal pest control where it was done... was better on this sort of game than it was for bunnies back in the UK! No shit it would be straight on the face of the boar like a limpet! Superb temperament too. Dogs long gone now though RIP Clyde 2 Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
Great to see dogs being given exposure to all sorts of hunting. Quote Link to post
fluff 409
ye great to see dogs do allsorts but i think they have to start of from were they or what they were bred for, and work around to be a good allrounder , Quote Link to post
benchick 42
I know of a bloke with a half x beddy whippet who does roe, fox, rabbit and hare on the lamp often, single handed most times aswell no joke, ive got a first x beddy whippet and i dont doubt the fire in her just very small at only 18-19tts id not use her on anything but rabbit but shes game for a run on anything but would probably struggle. another mate of mine had a pure whippet that would often turn off a rabbit and grab watever else he could get hold of, both bedlingtons and whippets are both good firey dogs its just size that might let the x down when it comes to holding a big deer or shaking a large dog fox, i know they do it they might just have to try alot harder and take a bit more of a beating doing it, what ever percentage of the x Quote Link to post
gamerooster 1,179
Beddy greys are the dogs to have for the larger stuff 5 Quote Link to post
thorny 100
Id say just rabbits and rat's. My little bitch is spot on at that, anythingvelse would be a big ask, and to be honest to much for her not to walk away damaged. She's great round the nets ferreting and nails enough on the lamp. 3 Quote Link to post
