Rez 4,957
No offence with this... But for god sake?!? A quick internet search will tell you they are as good as each other but the 97 is better no. Honestly. It is. Once refined, there isn't a better springer. Get one in 177 and you will wonder why you thought you were accurate with a pcp. When you realise you weren't, the 97 will show you the way. Get a 97. Fair enough, a TX is nice, lovely in fact, my PS is superb, but it will be for sale before my 97. Cool avatar by the way. 3 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
HW97K in .177 is an incredible rifle. It's a superb looking rifle with a very fine Bavarian sporter stock with diamond-cut Tartan chequering to grip and fore-end. It handles beautifully and is one of the most effective spring rifles in this calibre I've ever known. The only niggle I have with it, is the Butt-stock has a high cheekpiece which can limit your cheek-rest position to scopes with 50mm lenses and high mounts. I struggle to use a low-mounted 40mm scope properly so, you may find it's the same story for you. The accuracy is incredible and a headshot 50-metre rabbit is no problem for this rifle. It lacks for absolutely nothing as both a target and Hunter cross-over. For some unknown reason, the TX200 .22 rifle I had for 10 years of patiently trying to get on with, just didn't work out for me. Beautiful gun in stunning walnut but not one I got on with. But many other lads will say it's the best thing since since sliced bread! The TX200HC in .177 I also have however is a different story. Beautiful, accurate as it's possible to get and ruggedly reliable. Worth a look-at too! Simon 2 Quote Link to post
Coypu Hunter 486
If you get the chance, try each of them at your local range or gunshop to see which fits you best. Then buy a 97. 2 Quote Link to post

random 659
I am also looking at getting a springer to go with my pcp, hopefully in the next few months or so,and my shortlist has both those on it,I had a 97 a few years ago and should have kept it but hey ho my mistake! It was fantastic and really has never been replaced,my shooting buddy had a tx200 for years and was also very good,my advice is go and handle them and get a few shots off and see which you prefer, that's what I'll be doing and whichever you leave the shop with will no doubt be a quality rifle that's a joy to use,I don't think you will regret either but ultimately only you can decide for you!! mark williams 7,550
Hi jandcguns, I asked the same question recently on here with the same guns in mind. After a lot of trying out different guns at my range the HW 97 in .177 flavour is in the lead at the moment but i still need to try out the pro sport. Good luck with your decision. 2 Quote Link to post

Do indeed try a PS mate. Liquid smooth. Really. Low on power my own, but I find it better that way, especially on the course. 1 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,778
Try the pro sport i love the 97 but for me the pro sport is in second place much better than the tx all day long Im not taking any thing away from the tx as its still one of the top springers but the bear trap takes some getting used to and i think it lets the tx200 down but if you get a 97 for the life of you dont get a KT get a sporter all day long hate the kt stocks lol atvbmac  1 Quote Link to post
