I'm only amateur and really only take pics when mooching with my whippet but love photos with high of depth of field... Any suggestions on a budget of £250 max... But, I had a 70-300mm lens that did the job to an extent in my early days, and it cost me £ off ebay, I had it 4 years and have just sold it on ebay for £70.. So many people focus on the camera rather than the lens..work up to the best lens that you can afford, it will make all the difference to your photography. My main lens is a Nikon 300mm f4, and 90% of the time with a 1.4tc fitted..I only do wildlife though, not landscapes. Happy snappin Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I've been trying to find out the difference but not much info... The 16 - 300 may a better bet as then you won't need anything else. You do have to accept some compromises by getting a superzoom.
