Best Budget Lens For Wildlife/landscape

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

Have a Canon EOS 600D with kit lens and was wondering what peoples recommendations would be for upgrading my lens, I'm after something of an all rounder for wildlife/landscape ???

I'm only amateur and really only take pics when mooching with my whippet but love photos with high of depth of field...

Any suggestions on a budget of £250 max...

JD is right matie..

But, I had a 70-300mm lens that did the job to an extent in my early days, and it cost me £80 off ebay, I had it 4 years and have just sold it on ebay for £70..

So many people focus on the camera rather than the lens..work up to the best lens that you can afford, it will make all the difference to your photography.

My main lens is a Nikon 300mm f4, and 90% of the time with a 1.4tc fitted..I only do wildlife though, not landscapes.

Happy snappin

Not the same lens mate, the one you're thinking of is standard kit lens...

I've been trying to find out the difference but not much info...

I've been advised by a photographer to save for this which they say will do the best of both worlds but would appreciated people's thoughts/opinions as its money I don't have but would be prepared to save if worth it ???

Cheers in advance ;)

Its an excellent lens, but you are restricting yourself the wide angle end by going for the 28 - 300, on a cropped APS-C sensor camera especially for landscapes.

The 16 - 300 may a better bet as then you won't need anything else. You do have to accept some compromises by getting a superzoom. However there's some reviews here and it is looking better than its predeccessor.
