Hunterhartley 8
Anyone been out pike fishing, iv'e been out a bit, most week's but nothing decent, plenty of jacks but the big girl's usually start showing from xmas onwards, just wandering if anyone has had anything a bit special, got myself on a new water and i know that the big one's are there, i just need to find them, here's hoping. Been doing it all my life and sadly its not worth paying for the rod licence anymore around my parts, most of the double figure fish have gone walk about, a mate of mine had a theory they evolved , grew legs and got on a ferry to Ireland but i got a strange feeling they ended up on the table... Every Xmas without fail i could pull at least five decent doubles out of Three rivers, Warping Drain , Scunny area, but not no more, its been like it for years now, best fish i seen was by my old man 27lb at three rivers but that was 6 years ago. 1 Quote Link to post

jack44 187
I haven't done any pike fishing for a few years now but got some lures at the show yesterday in swords. I went out today to pass an hour and got a 6lb on a surface lure was a cracking take so I was just wondering do many people use these surface lures what's ur opinions 1 Quote Link to post

jack44 187
Sound bb what type of lures would you recommend this time of year I know dead baiting probably get the bigger girls but sometimes I just like keeping busy with the lures roaming about Thanks again 1 Quote Link to post
billybaltic 308
I just wouldn't choose a surface lure, but many catch on them, i would choose a few four play in different pattern's and also a few of the rubber shads from savage gear, if all else fails they say the shakespear big s has caught more pike than any other lure but they are a bit different now, depends how deep the water is that your fishing, i like to be able to crank down to the bottom if i have to but find mid water suits as i don't fish deep water's much. You could always have a deadbait out while you cast about, good luck mate. 1 Quote Link to post
Flacko 1,747
What you reckon on pike tactics on the canal bb Quote Link to post
billybaltic 308
Same as above mate, could always try a bit of wobbling/sink and draw, i like a roach or a live bait roach.I would keep moving along the canal every 30min, try around bridges or barges any sort of feature, good luck. 2 Quote Link to post
Alan... 172
What you reckon on pike tactics on the canal bb If it has any match anglers on it ask them what the pike have been following in, then catch them yourself and use as livebait 1 Quote Link to post
