Jamie m 668
I just use plastic ones attached to cage they either leek or not enough comes out : ) , but I don't loose any sleep lol , if a Jill's had kits I put in a heavy dog bowl so she gets plenty , and in the summer they love a paddle in it to keep cool , water is a constant chore through the summer , plenty of fresh stuff as and when , plenty of good meat through the winter they don't drink much . pie-eater 377
I just use the `cheapo red topped water bottles. I also put in a big bowel of water when it gets realy hot. The trouble I have with water bowls is one of my jills gets in the bowl and starts digging soaking everything. 1 Quote Link to post

Donna Wildwood 288
I use a giant dog bow in the run area of my set up. If they go for a dip, then it doesn't hurt, they generally dry themselves off before they go up to the hutch. I never use bottle, for the rabbits of the ferts. I reckon it must be really frustrating if they are thirsty but can only lick a drop at a time! 1 Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
3 of the largest red top water bottles. Socks on them in winter to help with freezing and silver foil tape on them in the summer, stop them going green. 1 Quote Link to post
rizla1 122
I use the rabbit water bottles but was thinking of giving these a try anyone else tryed 1 Quote Link to post
rizla1 122
They seem a bit better for the ferret to drink the water, Tap in bird cage drinkers on ebay and theres a few differant types on there for few quid Quote Link to post
ZeusPolecat 185
I use both, each of them seem to have their own preference. The bowl is heavy and I place it inside an even bigger bowl to stop it getting pushed around and it catches some of the water dug out of it. But my hob only digs the water if it's deep so I just fill it a little. Quote Link to post

joe14 98
Coop cup! From wilko or online 1 Quote Link to post
joe14 98
Got to be the bolt on version. But if they like nowt left in its place you can just see the tiny hole i drilled at the top of the stainless steel cup. Use a cable tie to put through there to secure the cup to the wire holder Lol Edited January 25, 2015 by joe14 Quote Link to post
The one 8,483
Buy the cheap plastic bottles your hand will never be out your pocket , buy the dearer coloured plastic bottles they will let longer and the coloured plastic slows down Algi growing inside the bottles in the summer 1 Quote Link to post
bunny tickler 876
joe , i also put the cable ties on the coop cup but that made it awkward to clean every day ,i also found certain pop bottles had the same screw thread as the shop bought water bottles ,my set up now is the large plastic water bottles with either the original bottle or pop bottle onto the dripper ,another idea i use is i fix the bottle to the cage with a rainwater downpipe round clip i just lift it in & out that way its a lot better ,thanks everyone for your ideas/input .cheers Quote Link to post
