Quarter bull 240
Jmo, theres no point in spilting hairs, wheter its robbing a bank, or robbing the corner shop, etc, its still theft, no inbetween, when you choose to steal, its excatly that, you CHOOSE, nobody forced them to make that choice, an to think a bankrobber is cool, is not rigbt in my eyes, all this bigman chat or theyre cool, thats in hollywood, dreamland, come back to reality, an your a theif. I think the problem is, an its jmo, is that we compare deeds an standards to other men, in the hope that were not as bad or guilty as them, an that makes us think were not doing no wrong, but in hindsight we are, a theif is a theif full stop. As ive stole before in the past im just as bad as that robber end off, im not going to take the high ground an say mines was petty his was big, just to excuse myself, I knew I was in the wrong to steal, but I choose to do it anyway, an if we spilt hairs, it leads you away from the truth, that its theft an we havent obeyed the law.

gnasher16 30,452
Its interesting how the acceptability of certain crimes changes through the generations.....the big bank/bullion/security express robberies of the ,s were mainly what financed the drug scene in London and Essex through the 90,s yet back in the 70,s and ,s anyone who took drugs was seen as the absolute dregs of society and armed robbery was almost an acceptable " honest " crime........whereas today we pretty much accept a bag snatching junkie as everyday life and a tooled up robber as the scum of the earth ...maybe im just a bit too old school but i find todays society very strange in many ways. Hareydave 1,214
in 70s it was popular to just park your car in the jewellers an help yourself
Lab 10,979
I think the difference for me would be where the crime took place. If I was visiting one of the larger cities, good chance I don't know anyone and I see a bank or a jewellers getting done over id pretty much stand back and watch. Swap that to my local village and post office getting turned over I think I'd have a go. Maybe that's down to having a bit of pride in where I cone from.....even if it is a shitehole....lol
