Received a package this morning containing some top class leather work..... £40 would be a great price if you wanted a a good handmade leather collar and lead. SS stuff is also great value if that's what you like but I like a good bit of leather!

Cheers gaffer.

P.s. Not a penny exchanged hands so I'm very greatful for that aswell!

Sorry to hear your packing in Kev . As we all know Iv packed it in a few times to ha ha ..

That's the beauty of craft we can change products over night .

The big downside for this sort of work is the constant investment in equipment and materials I reckon . You have to make clear profit to do that , but to be honest and fair (and to get the business) we all ask to little for our products .

So it becomes a tread mill , I sell cheap to keep money coming in but my "profit" is as little as £3 sometimes (more often than I want to admit) so I have to reinvest all the money to make the next batch . On and on it goes ...

The only people we can blame for that is us I supose !!!

It's hard to stay motivated sometimes in that situation ..

It's a shame you can't advertise locally for saddlery repair , I think most saddlers used to make there living stitching little bits back together . My cousin is a master saddler and she just sells saddles now , and another lady I know does exactly the same . I would think there is a wide open hole for repair if the few saddlers left are mostly selling new tack on commission .

Just an idea .
