tsteve9999 456
No poles mate just pegs one ether side Any chance you could give a dimwit like me a bit more of a description of how they are used mate? 1 Quote Link to post
slip lead 862
The same way you would lay a 3-4 ft on a run. Always have a good verify of nets, and I've found when using on run's or alike the dubble peg works better. Does anyone one here put a nail in the bottom ring. Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,752
No poles mate just pegs one ether side But they will need holding up,,,or there just going to lie on the floor like they are in your pic,,,of course you can just delicately hang the top line,,,off a thin branch from the under side of the hedge,,,or break a stick off,,and twist the top line on the sticks,,like a longnet.... Has the net maker used these befor?,,,, Because there is the possibility ,,,that these giant purse nets,,,could use the full length of the draw cords ,,,,in other words the bunny hits the centre of the net and keeps going till it's pursed,,,10 feet away,,,,, To be fair this is unlikely because of undergrowth,,,I think they would be best set up like a longnet, two poles either side twist top and bottom lines on to a peg/pole 7 Quote Link to post
mhopton 807
I've a couple of long nets I use with out fixed poles so ether use like Tomo said or held up with a spair pole Quote Link to post
Rimfireboy! 1,463
Can you take a few pics when you've got them in situ? Will be interesting to see them set up. Hope you get some good results fella. 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,507
it wouldnt harm them to be used with poles ,but a twig , nettle stalks etc will all hold them up long enough to be used 1 Quote Link to post
albert64 1,882
don't see the point really a couple of 6yd stopnets would be a better option as they'd catch the ones that run up the outside of the hedge aswell 2 Quote Link to post
mhopton 807
We do use them but you can't set them up when you have a fence ether side of the headge 1 Quote Link to post
