Rez 4,960
When filling the bottle on the rapid, does everyone give it 10 twists and fire until the pressure drops or do other have different methods? Nice one. Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
my rapid has a slow slow leak .I suspect it could be from doing as you have mentioned .I have not taken the gun apart to look but looking at various pictures of damaged valve bodies over the years on rapids ,I feel the method of taking of the bottle as you have described could lead to the damaging of the valve body .When you keep shooting the gun with little air pressure, the hammer smashes into the valve body the only thing holding that is a grub screw that rips through the valve .So I go for the unscrew and let the air leak out and risk blowing up the o ring .I COULD BE WRONG. Rez 4,960
So you turn until the pop... Im guessing not. How d'ya know when to stop turning? You hear the valve let the rest of the pressure out? Quote Link to post

toby63 1,236
if you twist and hear the loud pop that could damage the oring Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
if you twist and hear the loud pop that could damage the oring Yes but what is better to damage an o ring (10p) or a valve? Quote Link to post
toby63 1,236
agree but if done correct there shouldnt be a problem Quote Link to post

I see you think like me ,I also have another problem when my bottle comes of my gun the valve sometimes leaks when pumped up its ok .So unscrewing the bottle a little and shooting untill there is no pressure can take a long time .This is a failing in the theoben gun design .
