secretagentmole 1,701 Posted January 19, 2015 Report Share Posted January 19, 2015 Well I decided to replace the Mr Kipling shims with some by Fanta (ie mince pie foil dishes with strips from a pop bottle). So Sunday afternoon and evening was spent in the permission setting up and then I thought let's see if we can get some pigeons. I replaced the foil with 3 stips of plastic but that was way too much so 1 was removed and the scope re-zeroed. A few plunks more at the box showed that it was nicely set up so I decided to have lunch and wait for the pigeons in my permission. Now some of you have said that you have great permissions. Well check this out. That brick bench makes a great place to leave your stuff so it does not get soaking wet from the thawing ground. However to avoid the galloping Jeremys you do need something warmer than brick to sit on. In the bag is the target box, my NV rig as well as various other bits and pieces ike a knife, hypo stop, insulin etc. Anyway I waited, waited and waited some more. Plenty of birds that in ornithological circles are called LBJs (little brown jobs), but no pigeons. Then they came in in one mahoosive wave. Landed, I managed to get a shot off and one fell to the ground as the rest bogged off down to the sewerage farm at the far end of the farmland where I also have permission. So gun finally set up, another pigeon and hypothermia as the ground did not defrost all flaming day! 4 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,823 Posted January 19, 2015 Report Share Posted January 19, 2015 Nice shooting mole, so your type 1 diabetic im type 2 and on a shit load of tablets and where you carry insulin i carry mars bars and full sugar pop lol not that its any thing to laugh about i hate the fecking illness with a passion. Nice perm you have by the way iv got a rookery on mine loads of crows and the like but not a lot of pigeons . love the look of the rifle by the way and the carbon look silencer or is it a real carbon fiber one atvbmac Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701 Posted January 20, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 20, 2015 Thing is if the other half gets waylaid or delayed I can bung the NV on and make the most of the extra time! I was out for a good few hours to allow for any shimming problems, so I needed lunch and a drink (Eau de Anglia, not so freely available from the tap but still cheaper than a bottle of spring water), as I said it was cold hence the shooting mat. It does all fit in the black bag that I just sling on my back apart from the gun which goes in the gun bag. Nice and easy to carry about. Quote Link to post
