I was thinking that this looks like a 'ready made' coyote snare or similar.....the double crimps at the swivel end a bit of a giveaway..... Quote Link to post

They have teeth that are on a one-way ratchet system. They are designed to creep forward and not relax at all. It will have to have been cut off i would imagine. Quote Link to post
