I don't know where abouts in Lancashire you are but I could recommend Stephen J Fawcett in Lancaster. Good gunsmith

Depending on the type of spring, it could be easy to change.

 

Some top lever springs are notoriously strong and difficult to replace, others are simple leaf springs that can be taken out and replaces with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers.

 

If it's a good gun that you want in good nick, ask a gunsmith

That would be great baz if you could I want to use it on beaters day but it's not safe without fixing that spring.

If you mean vaugn at pilling don't bother, i wouldn't let him put a brush head on.
