L E D Or Halogen Lamps ? Lets Hear Your Views

Recommended Posts

I have a tracer 150 led and I can't fault. I find it easier to spot with it than halogen, but I'm colour blind with certain colours and find it a bit more difficult with a halogen. Also I do a lot of gate lamping as some of my permission is just small fields and compared to my mates striker with a battery to get in an out of the car with its great and we end up leaving the striker in the car most of the time. I only lamp bunnies with it and it's brilliant for that. I think the k50 is next on the list though. I went for the rechargeable 150 which apparently gives 2.5 hours run time, but I've yet to run the battery out on a nights lamping. Brilliant lamps I'm my opinion. The only downside I've noticed is when you put a filter over the top it kills the light quite a bit compared to halogen

LED is the future. Lightforce and the like will soon cotton onto this. Long gone are the days that Deben and such had the monopoly of the market. Shit...you can get a cree torch for less than a tenner that will suffice for bunny bashing. Imagine how far they've come in just 3 years. Then imagine how far they will go in another 3 years. If Deben/Lightforce don't pull their finger out and soon...they will be out of business as far as lamping equipment is concerned.

As for me..i don't for 1 second regret going to LED coz i certainly don't miss lugging a big ass lamp and battery about all night and faffing about with dodgy wiring/connectors.

that i believe that L E D is the way forward, and thats when he

told me about these new lamps they are working on.

Quite looking forward to see what they come up with.

ALRIGHT TROOPS.

BOUGHT MY SON ONE FOR XMAS.

THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD CRISP SPOT BUT A BIT UNDER POWERED.

WOULDVE BEEN BETTER WAE A STRONGER L.E.D.INSIDE IT.

Suppose it depends where you lamp. Most of my permission is small to medium sized fields and it's brilliant. Have really tried it on a big open field but don't think it would be problem as I don't slip the dog from miles away.

i think cree lamps are definitely the way forward. its only a matter of time until a cree lamp can match the power of a halogen. that time may be here with the k50 and it will be something i'll look at for next season.

will let you know when my k50 gets hear rob I will do a side by side comparison will take the blitz too

I Know gafer said he will compare the k50 side by side the Lightforce Blitz

but has anyone compared these lamps yet ? and if so what is the outcome.

As I have 1 friend that wants the K50 and possibly another interested

Cheers Fellas,,, SWG DAVE
