swg dave 334 Posted January 18, 2015 Report Share Posted January 18, 2015 I have not long bought a Tracer 150 L E D Lamp and i was Impressed with this lamp, i also have a 170 Lightforce Striker with 75 watt halogen bulb which is also a nice lamp. But to be honest since ive had the 150 i have not used the striker170 as i get along well with the 150, its crisp white beam and nice spot minus all the glare. I enjoyed reading the Foxdigger post about the K50 Sup Beam, and how pleased stabba was with the K50 lamp. It would be nice to hear a few more views, are you happy with the halogen lamps, or are the CREE L E D lamps the way forward? Cheers SWG DAVE. Quote Link to post
MickyB 327 Posted January 18, 2015 Report Share Posted January 18, 2015 Within the next 5 years everything will be LED mate, cree.is a good make depending on how the lamp is made once the LED has failed you might have to bin the lamp but they reckon you get about 50,000 hours from one LED plus they take less power so battery will last longer;) 1 Quote Link to post
the big chief 3,099 Posted January 18, 2015 Report Share Posted January 18, 2015 Led can be changed and have a long life span.i was out the other night my pal bring his lamp off cushty nush like the buffalo river ones his beam had a slight blue tinge but was a hell of alot crisper than my striker with a 100w bulb in my striker went further but his was a cleaner been and seeing fox diggers post on the k50 and stabbas review and watching the vids on youtube I placed my order for the k50 and this type is the future of lamping now and its about time things started to change sure there will be people who will stick with the old style of lamp but myself definitely going cree route 2 Quote Link to post
swg dave 334 Posted January 18, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2015 I spoke to a fella at Deben about the 150 L E D Tracer and how pleased i was with it.. Apparently they are working on some new L E D design lamps that will be ready for release for the start of the new lamping season September 2015. Because at present the only traditional hand held lamp that we have all come accustomed to using IE the sportlight range and Lightforce range, that type of design, and only recent has Tracer released the 150 LED lamp which in comparrison is built around the same as their sportlight range. I believe the current 150 model has a 10 watt cree L E D. So i was wondering if they are going to up the cree to say a 20 watt ?, he did not say too much he kept his cards close to his chest But I did put it to him about a 170,, 180 with a higher wattage cree. swg dave 334 Posted January 18, 2015 Author Report Share Posted January 18, 2015 Gafer the good thing with the K50 is, if i am right it has different power settings and can be turned up or down in power output which can be an advantage for field size and quarry at distance etc.. or you could use its low power for simply waking the dog for a quick pee, on your way to or from some where 1 Quote Link to post

Guest vin Posted January 18, 2015 Report Share Posted January 18, 2015 I was out with one of them LED Tracer 150 the other night and I was using the 170 Striker. The LED has the wrong colour glow for me...too blue/white. . .not a bad beam and distance great for bunny bashing..but still a lot of spread on the outer edges.. I had a good look from all angles whilst my mate was using it..I will be staying with the Halogen for now until they get the colour temp correct and as near to the glow of Halogen..This is easy to do if they use different LEDS in their set ups. They will be the only lights used in a few years IMO and if your not using LEDs in spot lights indoors you must be mad Quote Link to post
