Does anyone know if this is a fairly new syndrome or did it occur in the past as well?

 

It seems to be something that is affecting more and more litters?

its around a long time and if it gets in your kennel it will linger for years and effect bitchs the following year its a form of herpes I know a lad had 3 litter's wiped in 3 months breeding boxers and got out of it because he couldn't shift it but again red lamp will keep it away if you keep pups above 37 degrees puppy peddlers and dealers don't some to be effected by it because they keep temperature right hence the need for thermometer and hygiene no point in hanging red light to far back or to close and cooking pups.
