Kania2000 trap

Recommended Posts

I know very little about these, can anyone help me with their experiences please?

I am specifically thinking about using them set in trees for the grey squirrel.

They are not cheap and as I have never used them your views would be gratefully received before I invested in a few.

Many thanks

They are a first class trap, but for setting in trees there are far less expensive options, if you get one of these nicked it's £40 down the drain, is it private or public woodland?

Its very public, thats why I can't use ground traps or poison! I plan on using some Fenn 4 built into boxes (in trees) but I would be more than pleased to hear any other suggestions. Areas of the park will be closed to the public on a rolling basis for shooting and the traps are for backup and ongoing control as we only have a 5 day shooting option, the place is swarming with greys, as tame and cocky as you like!

Cheers

As Moley has said on another thread you will be far better off using the Fenns or bodygrips in a box, out of sight is out of mind, pre baiting for 4 or 5 days before hand will help, that applies to the shooting as well

if the place is closed for 5 days , then get your prebaited boxes out there a week before so once the park is shut , you are ready to set your traps , i would lace the place up with trap boxes and once set ,check them every couple of hours taking the gun along for any opportunities, good luck

It's not as small as it looks LL. There is a top rail on the outer and a bottom rail either side of the fenn - if you look it doesn't go all the way to the top on the box that's caught.. the little cut out is just to channel them to the pan.
