shropshire dan 467
Hi all I have a old brno mod 2 and have been out tonight and had approx 15 misfires re engaged the bolt and fired without fail the second time. Also had some cases stuck in the breach failed to extract. Do you guys think it sounds like I need a new firing pin spring and extractor claws? Just priced them both up at less than £20 for both from chambers Quote Link to post
slipper 116
Dan I had the same problem I took mine to brocks and he put a stronger spring in it and cleaned it fine since He stripped the bolt in about half a second lol Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
Stripping the bolt is the easy bit - its putting the bloody thing back together. A quick job for a gunsmith who knows what he's doing... DIY is another matter. Quote Link to post
zx10mike 137
if you have to much oil in the bolt it can hydraulic lock making the pin lite strike ,next is it a bad batch of primers? then spring.very anoying when it happens i know Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
Unless you're using CCi ammo... then nothing suprises me. Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Cheers chaps. Should have mentioned I stripped and cleaned the bolt last week and greased the spring etc and today is the first time using since the strip down. And I'm using Winchester subs. Also the rounds I used are from a slab of 500 and have used 300 without any problems Edited January 16, 2015 by shropshire dan Quote Link to post

shropshire dan 467
Broken firing pin maybe? How can the firing pin break buddy? I'll strip it again today re clean it all and try. Would that still cause the extractors to fail? Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
Sounds like it could be gunked up. I'd take the bolt apart and clean off the grease. You can give it a very light coat of oil if you like. And I'd give the chamber a bit of a clean too. Bit too coincidental to get light strikes and extractor problems at the same time IMO. The one 8,524
If i clean mine i just take a old tooth brush and give the bolt a good scrub and the claws get a really good going over when it wouldnt extract spent cases , never stripped it down and greased it in all the years ive had it Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Cheers lads. Sounds like I've been to heavy with the lube Quote Link to post
jollyscotsman 11
Is that the same bolt thats on the cz527?,not familiar with that model,if so i may have a solution for you, been there with a light strike problem myself. Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
The 527 is a centre fire mate so almost certainly different buddy. Thanks Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Broken firing pin maybe? How can the firing pin break buddy? I'll strip it again today re clean it all and try. Would that still cause the extractors to fail? Stress fracture? Google broken firing pin and you'll find plenty of examples. Whether that's the cause here, I wouldn't know. But it's not unheard of.
