I went out with a couple of guys two years ago and made a nice series of images. You can see them here: (scroll right to see all the photos) http://mjthomason.portfoliobox.me/ferretingAnyway, I'm looking to start up the project again this season and make a really strong series of images (in colour this time) that capture all the work that goes in to catching rabbits with ferrets. The ultimate goal is to publish on the web and in a magazine with an essay about ferreting. I really like ferreting and the essay would be all about the skill it takes, the excitement, and the history of the sport. I can give you the images so you can use them though I'd appreciate a credit if you do and I can make you a nice print of your favourite. I'm based in South London but can travel anywhere in the region within reason. I'm pretty affable and easy going so if you wouldn't mind me hanging out with you for a day shooting lots of photos please get in touch. If he's still on I'm sure he'd give me a reference so please feel free to get in touch. I just shoot what I see so I think that means that if you're not doing anything to discredit the sport the photos won't discredit it either! What did you guys think of my portfolio? Can you be specific about things that you feel might discredit the sport so I can understand where you're coming from? I really like ferreting because it's a skillful sport and there are lots of great moments that make for dramatic photography. I respect the sport and I like eating rabbits... I personally wouldn't havea problem with you photographing me but i don't ferret and I'm miles away in Yorkshire.
