fluff 409 Posted January 26, 2015 Report Share Posted January 26, 2015 its not hard to get them to carry , but you can sicken them ,if your doing long runs and out all day for 2 or 3 days a week tp get a great fetching dog little and often till the fetch is the most important thing in his life , i was areal keen dog trainer at one time but , lost intrest a bit, got a good dog at moment fetch anything i taut him but he has got it in him , some dogs are natural , never had a terrier cross so dont realy no what there ability is for fetching but i think they can be trained like most dogs all the best , Quote Link to post

No matter how much i tried to train her to retrieve wasnt interested tried balls toys dummies rabbit skin on dummies etc would just look at it not interested yet first rabbit she caught retrieved it straight back to hand & did so for rest of her life & would retrieve shot stuff aswell but only if it still had a pulse if it was dead she would drop it bout a foot infront of you!!
