as with most crosses the chances of them killing a fox is pretty high, but when it comes to killing them regular the chances are very very low....like i said same as most crosses...including bull crosses.

If Bull crosses are regulary failing on fox i would take a closer look at the breeding. That probably goes for all the other mutts that are throwing the towel in.JMHO

the best bred dogs in the world throw the towel in, good breeding only increases the chances of success it does'nt gaurentee it. :)

just to go back to this topic.the said whippet was taken out and did not do very well! rabbits= 3 runs 1 kill .big rabbits no kills even on 20 yd slips out of the seat the dog was packing in after 25 yd course so we dint slip him on owt else.turns out dog has not done a lot but the owner is a little over excitable about what his dog can do and has not really given him the chance to learn the ropes.so it will be back to the drawing board with easy stuff in big fields in the daylight i think

WHATS THE POINT IN RISKING FACKING THE DOG UP WHEN THERES OTHER BREEDS WHICH ARE FAR MORE SUITTED TO THIS TYPE OF WORK IT JUST DOESNT MAKE SENSE TO ME. ITS LIKE ASKIN AMEHR KAHN TO GO IN THE RING WITH MIKE TYSON POINTLESS. COME ON LADS WHIPPETS HAVE THERE USES IN LURCHER BREEDING BUT CHARLIE KILLERS, NO I HONESTLY DONT THINK SO DO YOU :no:

i had one that took fox and wasn't never badly injured, i think he only ever took two or three bites. if they're game enough and also have the knack for it, theres no reason a whippet can't take a fox. whats the average weight of a fox ? i'm sure most whippets would have the upper hand in that department.
