Insruments??

I play guitar, mostly acoustic, but have a Heritage Les Paul that I still have a blast on now & again.....

Used to have a 76 Les Paul in tobacco sunburst, kept that one on top of the wardrobe out of harms way....took it down one day for a quick noodle, the youngest was just about to have her afternoon nap,I nipped in the bathroom for a pee, came out and pickedup the guitar (in its case) and the little un had undone all the catches ...the guitar dropped out and went down the stairs like a missile :icon_eek: fortunately there was a wall at the bottom of the stairs to stop it :bad: the neck was smashed to bits, the top hats, pick guard, fret board were in pieces, the pickups although still in one piece were goosed :cray: The insurance replaced it for me within a fortnight,I got a brand new one in black and fooking hated it....

Mine is in antique sunburst :-) & spends far too much time in the case tbh......it's nearly been sold a few time over the years, when I've been really skint, which had been frequently lol....,,,but I could never do it! Well those days are behind me now (hopefully) & it will remain a treasured possession :-)

You have got me thinking about my little boy though, he's been playing with the catches lately......must make it safe!

My daughter was2 when this happened, she laughs her head off when I remind her of it  little shite  when I rang the insurance the woman said "How much is it worth?" I replied £1800,she told me individual items over a grand had to be listed, specifically musical instruments and jewlerry :icon_eek: in the end she felt sorry for me and said on this occasion they would pay out :boogy: like I said though, the new one felt like a piece of 3x2,couldnt stand the neck on it,the other one was well played in ,so I flogged it in the end,the old was broke for parts :cray: Get a padlock on it..

Play a bit of guitar ( enough to get by), played in bands for years rythm and singing ( well sort of lol)..

Just putting something together again now, brother plays bass and has been in everything ive done.

Played some decent gigs over the years, Guilford festival was good, shame we were on at the same time as the The Stranglers lol.

Just for a laugh now, but as soon as you say you're playing again you get asked to do all sorts, so we're playing at a mates wedding in March and my cousins wedding in May ( they'll be messy enough), few of the pubs want us to do a bit in the summer.

I've not got the inclination to be gigging all the time again though.
