Burying The Dead

This image was put on Facebook on the Wild Derrynane page, a conservation and wildlife photography group. I don't think it was put on as ammunition for the anti's, more as an example of the crass stupidity of the hunters to leave dead foxes on the Wild Atlantic Way, Kerry, in full view of walkers and tourists. Of course this has led to some mad comments from the bunny huggers and in their eyes makes anyone involved in hunting, shooting and fieldsports as the same as the irresponsible idiots who couldn't be bothered clearing up after themselves. This is the sort of stuff that gets hunting banned as this kind of negative publicity will get the non hunting public to lobby their members of parliament. Are the lads who did this just lazy/stupid or do they want to cause offence? Hopefully this doesn't end up making national headlines. We all need to be aware there are many people out there that think anyone that hunts is some kind of Neanderthal with no regard for wildlife or the countryside, lets not give them any more reason to think this.

As said above needs a bigger photo to show more detail.

First thought came through my head is why would anyone go to the effort to carry their kill's to one spot to dump, they would of left them where they fell and probably taken the tails off maybe.

There is nothing much you can do with a fox other than dump it but you put it somewhere a bit out of sight.

The guy who published it on his Facebook page wasn't coming at from an anti hunting angle, more concerned about the effect on the tourism. He said it was on The Wild Atlantic way which is a new venture started last year to create a walk along the west coast North to South, heavily promoted and advertised here. I don't know whether this is a plot by the antis to discredit hunters, hopefully not because that would show some degree of organisation and cunning from the usually inept crowd of crusties and bunny huggers.

I've done that for year too.......not the same spot but that's where all shot foxes go. In the wood out of the view of the public. If anyone thinks burying them is the answer then good luck.

You should take a photo if this pile of foxes......I've had a look for ones I've chucked a few weeks later and its very hard to even find a bone

Can't load pictures it don't hover me where dead foxes go but there's a path just the other side of the woods and I thought some one would complain everything offends someone and people love to interfere

Aye there's always someone......even if you buried them there would be someone complaining you never said a prayer...lol
