Popular Post storm323 191
Ain't been on here much so thought I would share a night out me and keeganress on here had out! Set out from my house at 6.30 pm for 300 mile drive ! After a long expensive stop in the services we arrived at our spot at 1.00am ! The weather was perfect Almost to perfect for my young whippet cross! Started off nicely with 6 from the first field had a drop off then headed up hill!both dogs were running well and both catching well the young dog was on 17/17 by our next drop were we had 29 to drop off! Then back up the hill we went were the weather was getting extreme very cold rain and a shivering whippet cross! Up the hill Keegan's dog started to show her experience and was running fantastic! Catching one after another! Then my young whippet cross started to really not enjoy herself and every bunny she caught she would run up against the dry stone wall for shelter so I decided to end her night on 23 out of 30 runs which I was happy with for a dog in it's first season! But still Keegan's dog kept going with her thick rug that god had given her! By the next drop off we we had another 34 healthy bunnies ! Then a walk back to the car his dog bagged another 3 ! She finished on 49 which give us a nice bag of 72 and a lovely 5 hour drive home and at 5 in the morning but a cracking night enjoyed every cold heathy minute of it! 21 Quote Link to post

bird 9,970
well done and very good bag that , suppose if you had different dog with thicker coat, you prob get another 20 more or so. But you got to work with the dog you choose aint you mate, it done well with it not enjoying it as much as the other dog. my 2 dogs got good coats, and my younger dog 1x gsd x grey got great coat, it don't seem to feel the cold+wet, but the wimp don't like to go in water if he can avoid it lol. keeganrees 196
Was a cracking night .. My best night with my dog and I think there's still a little more to come from her .. 300 miles .. We'd do 250-300 mile round trip for 10-20 .. So at least this was our trip was paid for with sale off bunnys .. And if you want it enough you'll get it 3 Quote Link to post
storm323 191
Yes bird think your always gonna get that with the whippet cross although it was extreme condition ! When we dropped off I couldn't wait to get some bunnies in my bag to keep me warm! I chose the whippet cross for it's style of running very up and at them and hoping be the start of my line but still a long way to go as it's only her first season! I've enjoy this season with her so far and nice to have a dog I can run regular again! Yes it is a long way to go for a few bunnies but it's better than staying at home for the night I think because I have youth on my side it makes it easier to get up and go ! Sorry about my lamping partner keeganress boring the hell out of you with his comment he's going through a rough patch as is girlfriend finally saw sense and left him ! 1 Quote Link to post

storm323 191
Tb25 what cross is she? Mine is not a huge fan of this weather were having now! Cheers tomo ye I'm not pushing her to hard for the numbers yet don't wanna over do it! What we've both noticed is the amount of ground the young whippet x covers compared to the older more wiser dog of Keegan's she covers ever blade of crass for a bunny where his dog is a lot more calmer and takes them quicker ! And yes I had him powting for the first hour of our journey home was very funny he miss counted one and thought he had 50 put bag at the van when we counted up he was wrong but not the first time he he's added one or two more into his bag haha!
