Tiercel 6,986
The only advice I can give, is what I do myself, knit when you feel like it. If you don't want to knit then don't, It's not a race. One tip I would give is try and keep the net handy, as I knit mine I place it in a carrier bag hanging on the hook I use to hold the net. nothing is more demoralising than having half an hour spare and it takes 10 minutes to set it up 200 yards of stretched netting 14 meshes deep read to have the selvedges added. In the carrier bag @ 180 yards of stretched netting. TC Edited January 10, 2015 by tiercel 1 Quote Link to post
Mr Wilkes 2,980
Good luck with the net, what twine you using , what mesh size ? Quote Link to post
kenny243 54
twine is 0,5 mm braided nylon mesh is 2 1/16 15 mesh wide Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
Are you double knotting the braided nylon? If not, how does it hold a single knot? TC Quote Link to post
Mr Goodcat 69
I wish you all the best with the net mate. And as said already, just do it when you feel like it or it might feel like a ball ache. 0.5mm will make quite a hefty net. Quote Link to post
kenny243 54
no im doing a double knot , so it dont slide but on the other hand i always double knot would 0,5 be to heavy you think ? gr Quote Link to post

NELS0N 457
0.5mm flat braided nylon?? if so it'll need a double knot for sure but will make an excellent killing net. Are you using pre-dyed or white?? Quote Link to post
kenny243 54
they onely sell with over here so ill have to dy it , think im gonna do it a nice green , when im done ! Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
With a 2 1/16 size mesh board every 35 rows will give you a rigged yard of netting. 2.0625" x 35 = 72.1875" / 12 = 6.015 ft of stretched netting = 1 yard of rigged netting. TC Quote Link to post
