alright lads

new to the catapult section,anyway got my first one today only a cheap on of ebay £13 inc postage also brought some 8mm ball bearings any way took it with me while walking the dogs this morning and put a can up can only hit it at about 6-7 meters any more and i cant hit lol,anyway taking my first few shots i instinctly felt i needed to hold it in my right hand witch felt comfortable yet im right eye dominant it feels uncomfortable holding in my left hand yet i can hit it this way and not the other anyone else have this?,also find the 8mm are abit small what size do you all use for general shooting

9.5mm steel for plinking cans mate, you might find that the bands slap your hand using 8mm, this is because the ammo is too light for the bands. Starting at 5m away is a good distance, once your hitting the can regularly then just move back a metre at a time, good luck!

next project nice chunky piece of wood unsure of what type tho

that looks like elder, if it is don't use it it's too weak!! Check to see if it has a pithy core. Wouldn't recommend using anything with a pithy core mate unless you don't like your eyes. :-/
