I like to be out at first light, not for any particular reason other than I like to be out at dawn....think its the fisherman in me  Never really thought about it,but as soon as the first setts netted up I pour a coffee from the flask, like when you've just tackled up your rod, baited the swim and settled the float on your first cast

With my son we will net up a burrow and i will carry on netting up the next or if theres a few close by till i run out of nets then i will go back and help him , but if its a dig he usually does that and i carry on ferreting .Once we get going we tend to crack on

:laugh:I am the world's worst for early starts...

My poor old body doesn't seem to function too well, until the joints become warm,...and my head clears... :D

Obviously,.on a paid job,..you need to get on site,.same time as the client,..or there will be trouble.

Most Farmers are sticklers for getting, a fair days work,.for a days pay, kinda thing,..so you have to be there...

On jobs for the Local Authority ,..Nature Reserves, etc,..you can sometimes wing it and work the day, to suit yourself..

Same with removing rabbits from large Manor House gardens,.under sheds, decking etc....

The only time I really get myself up for a days ferreting, is when the place is lifting with rabbits..

In such cases,..you have to fill ya boots, make a real day of it,..catch as many as you can,..before some other fecker does

I Just like early mornings, have nets out by 8,Every now and then you can be ferreting away and have a fox wonder into you on its way home, thats the kind of thing i remember.

Be finished by 1-2 Still have a bit of daylight to do anything else that has to be done.

Last 3 mornings finished up with 13 is that wierd :hmm:

I just like the peace when your out there a few rabbits are a bonus , a nice bagfull means i dont need to put my hand in my pocket to feed my stuff . But seeing my son enjoying himself or ripping a few mates on a day out means more than ferreting 7am till 5 pm would make it more like work
