frazdog 252
Its asking for trouble imo, the litter must not be that important, so as to work the bitch, why take the risk, youd be balling if anything happened, an to work a bitch in pup till 8 week, thats just stupid imo Quote Link to post

frazdog 252
Each to their own, an if one of our digging bitches was in pup, she'd be in comfort an less stress as possible, with daily exercise, not working, I just cant see the point in working bitches in pup, when the pups are important, but some mean more to men, than to other men. Blaise 2,324
20 years ago, a bitch was hunting wild boar during the winter, froze and snow. Some Boars have been shot. When the night came, the bitch was lost. No bitch during two weeks. This little Bitch has been found alive, inside the carcase of a lost boar. She eat the boar. And inside the carcase, nestled with the mother and leaves, three little pups. 5 Quote Link to post

Shamo 319
To me a Bitch wouldn't be put to a Dog until the Bitch was 'proven', to my way of thinking. I would also choose a Dog of better or equal quality, so why would I then risk any Pups by potentially over facing the Bitch. I only want Terriers to go to ground and then Foxes would be accidents, so slightly more strenuous work......lol. A bit of Ratting shouldn't worry a proper working Terrier. We used to Hunt Hounds up until the 5th or 6th Week, when they were obviously showing and struggling. 1 Quote Link to post
