beast 1,884
had a pure about 25 years ago, just couldnt get on with her although she was a decent hunter. i accept it was probably a lot down to me, as i hadnt had anything to do with salukis before and didnt get that they are a bit specialised but she did have an odd suspicious nervy temperament. remember chatting to dave bird on a couple of occasions when he had tor of dartmoor, never saw him work though. was he any good? what was his offspring like as workers? fluff 409
saw a few and owned a few decent dogs back in the day ,i had a right good one 27 dog just looked like a saluki a bit stronger in the back he caught everything asked and was loyal to me ,when it was legal he took roe foxes hare rabbits ,should had bred more out of him but had an accident and died at seven a lovely big dog he was loyal, never had one like him again Quote Link to post
Saluki246 1,053
One thing i have noticed about pure salukis is, their memory, they have a very good one and can remember places they have killed months after... The lad i had below that my mate has now, has tor of dartmoor breeding in him... 2 Quote Link to post
