Working Salukis

had a pure about 25 years ago, just couldnt get on with her although she was a decent hunter. i accept it was probably a lot down to me, as i hadnt had anything to do with salukis before and didnt get that they are a bit specialised but she did have an odd suspicious nervy temperament.

 

 

remember chatting to dave bird on a couple of occasions when he had tor of dartmoor, never saw him work though. was he any good? what was his offspring like as workers?

saw a few and owned a few decent dogs back in the day ,i had a right good one 27 dog just looked like a saluki a bit stronger in the back he caught everything asked and was loyal to me ,when it was legal he took roe foxes hare rabbits ,should had bred more out of him but had an accident and died at seven a lovely big dog he was loyal, never had one like him again

One thing i have noticed about pure salukis is, their memory, they have a very good one and can remember places they have killed months after...

The lad i had below that my mate has now, has tor of dartmoor breeding in him...

you done it now everyone knows you cant let them fluffy eared one trick ponys off a lead they have no recall ;)

:D ...i know.. most, if brought up right, have good recall.....if they are not after something..lol :)
