Flipper_Al 1,012
I dont think its the method ie, playing from the side, just over stocked and hammered fish the venues are fished all year round..... Edited January 6, 2015 by Flipper_Al 1 Quote Link to post
northern lad 2,292
A rod is the most efficient when at right angles to the fish(not the water), simple case of physics. It's down to the angler to make up tension when a fish runs at you. Northern lad you're right about summer time Pike, So many people think that Pike are indestructible when they are quite venerable, especially in the summer. Thought you meant 90 degrees to the water Lee Thank god it didn't get to a debate on compression, actions and tapers ATB Dave 1 Quote Link to post
squab 2,875
I dont think its the method ie, playing from the side, just over stocked and hammered fish the venues are fished all year round.....I disagree mouths are readily torn.with this heavy handed approach but hey no here to argue atb cheers Quote Link to post
Flipper_Al 1,012
Not an argument, heavy handed causes issues, i have had carp over 30lb, snag fishing, you need to be fully locked up, and drag them out, after that, then nice and gentle and play then to the net 2 Quote Link to post

slip lead 862
Get a unhooking mat and a 42" landing net, and your catch bigger pike with one of them boats with live bait in deeper water. Quote Link to post
