shropshire dan 467
Absolutely Deker. My extractor claws do need replacing as they are worn. It's on my to do list lol. Atb Dan Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Just after some advise realy, when I zeroe my rifle at sixty yards it will hold zeroe for say very roughly a hundred shots and for no reason it loses zero would you guys change the mount or the scope first I know it's a turn of phrase, but there IS a reason, you just have to find what it is. A bit more info would help, is everything clean and are all fixings tight? Are you using subs exclusively, or indeed the same ammunition exclusively. There is generally less shock on everything with a .22lr and subs than many spring air rifles. What happens when you get to 100 shots, do you just re-zero, or check mounts etc? Quote Link to post

Atb Dan Just a quick one, is this a CZ rimfire you are talking about, you may well know, but the extractors are different each side, which can lead people to think one (at least) is worn! ATB! shropshire dan 467
It's a brno so yeah practicly a CZ. It's defo worn cases have been getting jammed in the claws for a while started doing it with eley subs then went on to Winchester subs and wasn't quite as bad. But went out last night and had two cases stuck in the breach the claws had failed completely to grip the case. Stripped and cleaned it this morning and noticed it is getting worse. It's a 1967 model 2 so probably never been changed lol. Atb Dan Quote Link to post

I have not studied them in detail, but some of the guys BRNO bolts seem identical to the 452 bolts! Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
They are mate. I did have a CZ 452 hmr and the bolts were exactly the same except the brno bolt knob has a whole where the cz was a solid ball knob. Quote Link to post

I think you will find that was an evolution during the life of the 452, some have the hole, later ones don't...perhaps they were just using up old BRNO parts! shropshire dan 467
Arh possibly I didn't realise that. I absolutely love my old brno and the only thing I want to get done is a barrel chop down to approx 16" as it's now 24" and a pain in the truck Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Arh possibly I didn't realise that. I absolutely love my old brno and the only thing I want to get done is a barrel chop down to approx 16" as it's now 24" and a pain in the truck The full length BRNO can be a bit long, especially shooting from a vehicle, (but they are such a sweet and easy to use rifle...and accurate ), my 452 HMR is full length, but I think it's about 22", and that too can be a bit awkward sometimes. Each to their own, my last WMR was 16", actually about 15.5", and personally I just found it too short for my comfort; when I replaced it I had the new one cut to 19", just suits my needs better, 18-19" works for me! shropshire dan 467
I'd be happy with 18" as it's still going to be a big benefit over the 24". Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I'd be happy with 18" as it's still going to be a big benefit over the 24". Loads of people rate the 16, and I'm sure it works for them. I would never suggest 18-19" is the Best, that is just what works best for "me"! Obviously you cut it where you like, but if you go down to 18-19" and find it still too long, you can always cut more off, if you go to 16 and find it too short it's difficult to glue a bit back on! shropshire dan 467
Haha fair point Deker. I think I'll go 18 and see how I go lol Quote Link to post
