Strange Things Do Happen

Recommended Posts

For last 4 months I've hardly been able too walk from a bad spine we'll great news finally had my operation and now pain free we'll since then under doctors orders there is too be no hill walking for a month so as lying in bed feeling like wanting too rip my skin off coming off this f***ing morphine I could not take it any more so thought f**k it take the muts out for a walk and we'll my usall walk takes me past a few warrens so naturally I have too take the lamp bearing in mind I can't leave this terrier at home or he would end up howling the house or kennels down if he knew I was of out for a lamp cos for the last 4 months it's just been too painful too walk them seprate or even go for a lamp so off we go lurcher and terrier intow up the hill for a wee wander now one thing about this terrier called flint is a digging dog and has always been a digging dog bit of a ruff start always unsure if he would make the grade he has too a certain extent but he is the type that puts he's nose down from the moment of getting of the lead now in the dark you may as we'll say right I'll see ya when I give ya a whistle when you've hunted up a mile radius cos you will be darting about like no ones business and never listhen now the lurcher tie is completely diffrent as soon as he knows you've got a lamp he usally sticks too your heel we'll after getting up the hill which seemed like a mountain but was more like 50 paces but as it is my muscles have hardly done anything of late for last 4 months so every thing feels like hard work we'll within seconds of getting the dogs of the lead bam flint is gone now this is normal I know Iam not going too see this dog till we have finished are walk so as me and the lurcher head one way we only have too get about 50 yards before ties got he's first run but as usall at the start of the season he is a bit rusty and tends too over shoot after missing on he's first strike he puts in a few more turns till the bunny starts a bee line after it has put a turn in and got past the dog finally getting too home now this walk dosnt take me too long maybe 400 yards till the next warren in another field just on the other side of the dyke we'll under doctors orders Iam not allowed too be jumping or doing anything stupid so thinking f**k it I'll just lamp it from this side we'll after getting too the dyke and hissing the dog on too jump over on the lamp goes on and bang were onto another one tie has cleared the dyke and jumped over a rabbit clapped on the edge of the dyke little did he know the rabbit was behind him a quick whistle makes him look back and within in seconds this bunny is making a mad dash and the dogs slow reaction too figuring out wat is going on as the warren can only be 20 paces away from the dyke this bunny has alrdy got a head start and is front of the lurcher making a Bee line for home just as I can see the dog getting he's stride in thinking he might just get some pressure on it and turn it too run along the gorse bush it calls home before the dogs even got a hold of it out comes this little flying carpet out of the bushes the rabbit is heading for and into a big tumble flints got a hold of it with tie finally catching up and grabbing the other end now here is me thinking bollacks I can't get over this dyke and alrdy knowing tie the lurcher the only retrevier out of the two is going too let go it's just he's way too have a wee tug and if the other dog won't let go he will just walk away and what happens he does let go and starts plodding back and jumps the dyke now for the last 3 years flint has never once retrieved a singla thing even trying my best threw the first year of he's life nothing would make that dog bring something back too me no matter what it was he is the type too run retrieve and f**k off with it even not letting go and walking away from you if you approached and sometimes just spitting it out well here is me thinking we'll that's fox food now cos even if he spits it out tie is not going too retrieve it unless he retrieves it straight away still kicking he won't pick up a dead one and retrieve and here is me thinking there is know way Iam getting over this dyke so after whistle the dogs up thinking he was going too spit it out and leave it and I could not believe what my eyes were seeing the b*****d in terrier is walking back with the rabbit in he's gob so here is me thinking the dogs going too leave it on the other side of the fence or get so far and start munching on the rabbit just out of arms reach I can just hear the bugger climing the dyke he's nails scratching for a ledge and over he comes and jumps down just at my feet and walks straight up too me and spits the rabbit out he's gub and here is me thinking did this just happend has he actually brought this too me after 3 years of thinking I know this dog inside and out we'll after picking it up giving him some praise we start too head home after getting home Iam sitting here thinking the little c**t has known how too do it all along so strange things can happen
