RossM 8,082
Highly strung, if he doesn't get run hard he pesters , stares, whines. If we stop mid mooch for more than 30 seconds he whines or starts playing. He's sensitive but bold so pushes his luck regularly and I'm left with sulking dog. Becomes dog aggressive needlessly even though he's been well socialised, he's pissed on my leg whilst I'm talking to the next door neighbour, he's rattled a dog for contemplating marking the same rabbit hole as him, total thief food wise, did a 100yrd dash in a public meadow and stole a cupcake off a 4/5 yr old girl, everyone screaming. Don't get me wrong he's got lots of great attributes, although mostly physical....I guess my biggest bug bear is his lack of retrieve, we have a love hate relationship, but he's part of the family, great with the baby, guards house, etc. I won't have another collie blooded dog (unless it's a dash) as I just don't think the suit me(going off the one I've owed) It's hard to put across what I mean, 'he just drives me nuts' Mine raided a paki picnic when she was younger, the guy just looking at me and the batman impersonator screaming her head off, she just wanted a bit bhajji........ fluff 409
had the strait collie crosses i prefer the saluki collie crosses ,not seen a [BANNED TEXT] good genuine collie lurcher since i put my old bitch away ,getting rarer on the ground , i pefer the mix good coursing dog to good ,fast and determined collie type lurcher it worked for me and produced good pups very good pups ,bred several saluki cross collie cross they were very good dogs ,but there parents were top dogs so they had the right ingreidence , i hope the collie lurcher still keeps going but i see less and less of the type, that would say make the grade as good alround lurchers or allrounders as they say all the best Quote Link to post
colliejohn 840
It,s each to their own, for what i do, which is ferreting, mooching, and lamping, and nowadays it,s more lamping, i like a dog which uses its brain, has plenty of stamina, and can take a knock, the collie greyhound of the type i keep ticks all the boxes, the numbers game means nothing to me, been there and done that when i was alot younger, you can only kill stuff once. regards collie john. 2 Quote Link to post
s.e.s.k.u 1,893
Is there a better coat than the collie? Mines been out in all weathers and never seems to bother her? Still sleeps out of the kennel through the day in winter.. Quote Link to post

My assumption is you've travelled the length and breadth of the British Isles and seen ALL Collie cross to be able to say that? if there are no "genuine" collie crosses then what do you cross with these top class coursing dogs? In your opinion which part of the collie greyhound equation has deteriorated, the collie or the greyhound? Your comments are simply silly unless they are merely one mans opinion, they are also insulting to all the people who have posted their images on this topic.jmo. 3 Quote Link to post
