fox digger 1,086
I'm jealous as f**k sitting here still havnt had my tracking number Wont be long mate!! Because you ordered two they have to do somthing different with the postage, i asked today for an update on yours and another member as ye both ordered two and i havent received tracking numbers for the two orders yet! Plus now she is back onto me about the extra price of the delivery to the two "remote regions"..... Pain in the ass!! More fighting but its twice the battle when you have to be diplomatic and use good grammer because they cant understand "f**k off and just get the f***ing things sorted"!!!! 3 Quote Link to post
fox digger 1,086
Mine just arrived - woo hoo! Lucky I'm not at work today so was here to answer the door to dhl. Had a quick play; initial observations -# you need to take each battery out and remove the labels at each end# the batteries say Acebeam not Panasonic - are these the ones we were expecting? I thought we were getting Panasonic?# torch looks very well made and sits nicely in the hand. Very smooth thread mechanism to open the battery compartment# easy to adjust the different brightness settings# brightest setting does look to have quite a wide spill but until tested at night can't really judge# nicely made belt holster though doubt I'd actually use it as I reckon it's probably small enough to sit nicely in a coat pocket# lanyard a nice touch though again I doubt I'd actually use it out lamping as it's quite short meaning you'd need to keep the torch pretty close to your chest in use - I like to have a bit more arm movement# 3 different charger attachments - USB, mains and car cigarette lighter# 2 spare O rings All in all looks great, and a nice sturdy carry case to boot that should keep it safe while not in use. Look forward to trying it out at night... Once again, big thanks to FD for all his hard work and effort in setting this up.Rest assured they are panasonic 3400mAh protected cells mate, panasonic make the core and different companies put in the protection circuit and label them as there own, XTAR, PLUZPOWER ect ect..... They will be identicle guts to any genuine panasonic cell;)Glad it got to you safe and customs free!! The pleding with them to lower the price on the invoice obviously worked a treat!!My only advice would be to use the money saved on customs to buy a lithium charger off ebay that will take the 4 batts together, either nitecore or xtar one. Makes a big difference on run times. I dont like the charging circuit on the lamp itself, for the sake of another 20quid it makes a big difference to the life of your batts, here is a pic of the one i have with my 4 batts in it, charged fully in only a few hours at the correct .5amp charge rate. thanks for that fox digger. Can't see the picture you refer to - is this the right chargerhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NITECORE-i2-i4-Intellicharger-18650-26650-CR123A-Universal-Mod-Battery-Charger-/111526461555?pt=UK_Collectables_Tobacciana_Smoking_LE&var=&hash=item19f77ec073 ?Yes mate, the i4 is a good one, look at this one too, only difference is that it is digital and tells you an exact voltage for each cell, thats the one i have but the basic one does the very same thing, Quote Link to post

TC Definatly mate yes, off the top of your head what would it cost for RM postage on a package about the size of a shoe box and approx 1kg weight? I can get them sent to a main stream address no problem as has been done with the others. Many thanks for the info btw. Quote Link to post

flipbull 1,139
Just got home after a about four hours out and 1st impressions are there is a bit of flood to it but I got used to that. Goes a fair distance couldn't really say how far though. But far enough imo. It was good for chasing after quarry and dog and having the weight in my hand and not at my hip or on my back. Easy to handle as fd said you can use the button on the back or put it on stand by on front with 1 twist to the left for full beam and 1 twist to the right for strobe which flashes in different ways. You will know what I mean when using it. Wasnt fully charged when I went out but lasted the duration with life still left in batteries but dont know how much. This is just a quick review because I am fooked and its getting on. Sure people will put better reviews than this. So overall I am well happy with my K50 and look forward to hearing other peoples views. Hope all other people get theirs asap. Once again thanks fd for everything. 1 Quote Link to post
