I never saw the devil run but my freind was there when the devil was matched against anna when old ivor lee owned her.he told me the devil was lethal. And had anna beat but gave her another run for one that was disputed and anna went on to clean up big time. A story for another day .atb basil

its funny seeing them with the plus fours in the pub with the full tweeds and tease them a bit about old duke killing the shooting captains deer twenty years ago and how the shooting captain used to course with me twenty five years ago , nothing better than sitting with two jukels a warm fire in the bar ,dogs got mud on there feet as hees had an early morning run ,,and there looking you up and down , but they no not to say to much as the skeletons are all in the cupboard ,priceless , eighties were great for freedom you just have to change you approach nowadays , but a good dog man will have a dog as long as he is fit and able ,viva la chasse

ye quite a few are, but thats the way they are, ,most good guys i know dont mind us having a run ,but there always the few who are evil to lurchers in general so they deserve the closet attention,and get no favours or nods ,just the way it is in the country side matters of modern day living , i used to love coursing with a few mates and having fun fed the hares to the dogs or keep the back legs haunch for the casserole or butcher changed days

I never see her run either but a few men that did that I've spoke to said she used to run on the side of a hare, a very crafty bitch My uncle had her for one season of LL and he said he slipped one hare and the hare run one way and the dog another . He said the bitch run around the edge of the field and squated by the gate, when the hare that she was slipped on went to go through the gate she just picked it up , he said she you couldn't call it a course lol.
